London C-Card Overview

What is the London C-Card?

The London C-Card is a London wide free condom scheme aimed at young people aged 14 to 25. This means that young people can access free condoms in Bexley as well as any other participating borough.

Currently 26 boroughs in and around London are part of the scheme. In Bexley, the London C-Card is co-ordinated by Bexley Sexual Health, part of Bromley Healthcare.

How does it work?

Young people register with the scheme by visiting a participating venue – known as outlets - and completing an online form with a trained member of staff (paper forms can be supplied for sites with no online access).

The young person will receive a one-off sexual health discussion including a condom demonstration. They will then be provided with a credit card-sized plastic C-Card which has a unique bar code, which they can use to obtain free condoms from other outlets.

The process is completely confidential. Cards are anonymous and will only identify a young person when entered by a trained member of staff onto the secure database.
