We are LGBTQ+ Friendly
At Bexley Medical Group we are committed to ensuring people feel confident to use our service, feel supported and listened to. We strive to provide a supportive and safe environment for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender individuals. We believe in fairness, equality, and above all value diversity. While most health issues affecting LGBTQ+ individuals are similar to those of the general population, we know that LGBT+ people have unique health needs and experience disparities in care.
We would like to ask all our patients who identify as LGBT+ to let us know how we can continue to improve our service to you.
What we are doing:
- We are reviewing our policies to be inclusive and support the LGBTQ+ community
- All staff are undertaking training to be sensitive and supportive to the needs of the LGBTQ+ community
- We are very proud to have a champion for the LGBTQ+ community within our practice who will work closely with the patients to ensure high quality of service,

New LGBTIQ+ Youth Groups in Bexley – Delivered by Galop
Galop is delighted to share that, in partnership with the NHS, we have been commissioned to deliver a series of LGBTIQ+ Youth groups for young people living, studying, or working in the London Borough of Bexley.
These groups are designed to empower, support, and nurture LGBTIQ+ young people, offering a safe and welcoming space to learn, connect, and build community. Through a programme of psychoeducational workshops, participants will gain helpful tools and skills for navigating the world, while also having dedicated time to meet others, form friendships, and express themselves freely.
What We’re Offering
We will be running four dedicated youth groups, tailored to different age ranges and identities:
- Weekly Group for Trans and Non-Binary Young People (13–17)
For young people who identify as trans, non-binary, or who are questioning their gender.
- Weekly Group for Trans and Non-Binary Young People (18–25)
A space for older young adults exploring or affirming their gender identity.
- Fortnightly LGBTIQ+ Youth Group (16–18)
For young people exploring their sexuality and/or gender, offering connection, learning, and community.
- Fortnightly LGBTIQ+ Youth Group (19–25)
For young adults looking for supportive peer spaces and opportunities to develop confidence and wellbeing.
How to Get Involved
If you know a young person who may benefit from these groups—or if you are a young person who’d like to join—expressing interest is simple.
Just email groups@galop.org.uk and a member of our team will get in touch.
