NHS Bexley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has launched a new mobile and online service to help local people understand where they should go for treatment, especially when they need healthcare in a hurry or late at night or at the weekend.
The Health Help Now app can be downloaded for free at southeastlondon.healthhelpnow-nhs.net for web users, or by searching in the smart phone app store. It helps people check their symptoms and find the best place for treatment – showing which nearby services are open. Importantly, it will help people to know when to go to A&E, and when not to.
The app helps users by breaking down symptoms by age group – baby, child, teenager, adult and older adult – making it easier for people to find the right treatment for them. Health Help Now also offers advice – such as where to buy children’s medication when pharmacies are closed – and links to other useful websites.
“The Health Help Now app is a really useful tool for local residents to find the best NHS service to meet their needs anywhere in Bexley and beyond” explains local GP and NHS Bexley CCG chair, Dr Nikita Kanani. “No matter where you are in the borough, if you need health help and advice in a hurry, late at night or at the weekend, the app will quickly direct you to the most appropriate place nearby, so you can be confident that you’re getting the right help.”
